Masonic Hall of 134-148 Alice St. passed on in 1980. The birth of the Masonic Hall on the 2nd of December 1886 was celebrated with a big ceremony combining large family of Freemasons. On Tuesday 17th of May 1887, Masonic Hall was overjoyed with attendees in one of Mrs. Newman’s monthly assemblies. Masonic Hall welcomed Freemasons till 1933 when relationships with the University of Queensland (UQ) were forged. At this point, Masonic Hall became a member of UQ by becoming home to its Dental and Medical School and welcomed Professors Wilkinson and Bagnall as the founders.
Masonic Hall was survived by a hole for 5 years before being replaced by a 25-storey tower.
