Cloudland also known as Luna Park passed away suddenly in the early hours of the 7th of November of 1982. Living on Boyd St. in Bowen Hills, Cloudland was famous for entertaining and being a wonderful host. Welcoming musicians, dancers, and performers, Cloudland’s fun nights were known all over Brisbane city. Billy Romaine’s orchestra were present in 1940, and in 1979 Nick Lowe, singer of ‘Cruel to be Kind’ held a concert.
Cloudland also threw several school dances and balls. Desley Waterfield and Bev Bailey learned the foxtrot. Because of the sudden death, Cloudland’s family barely made it.
Cloudland is survived by an arch memorial and replaced by a housing complex.
